How to correctly install agricultural film and the use of agricultural film
Mar 24, 2025
The three elements of crop growth are sunlight, temperature and moisture. As one of the main covering materials of greenhouses, agricultural film has light transmittance, heat preservation and anti-drip properties, which naturally become its main physical property indicators. Therefore, the installation and use of agricultural film is very important. So how to install agricultural film correctly? How to use agricultural film? Let's learn about it below.
Correct installation and use technology of agricultural film:
1. Agricultural film must be stored in a shaded and dry place before installation and use, and must not be exposed to the sun and rain. If installed in winter, it is advisable to place the agricultural film at room temperature (2-3 ℃) before installation.
2. The iron and metal wires in the greenhouse structure should be well electroplated, and dirty and rusty components should not be used. At the same time, avoid using exposed metal wires and sharp angles to prevent tearing of agricultural film.
3. During installation, the agricultural film must be tightened and flattened to avoid affecting the use effect. For example, our company's Kelun PO film has multiple functions such as light transmission, heat preservation, drip prevention, and dust prevention. However, if it is installed improperly, it will not only fail to play its due functions, but also seriously affect its service life.
4. Do not install the agricultural film upside down, otherwise it will not play its function. If the PO film is marked with the words "this side of film should face the soil", that is, standing inside the greenhouse and looking up, you can read this word from the front.
5. The film should not be installed when the temperature is too high, because the film will expand due to heat at this time, and when the temperature drops, the film will shrink, causing breakage and tearing. Once a rupture occurs, it is advisable to repair it with special repair tape to avoid affecting the functional effect of the agricultural film.
6. Before opening the film roll, check the ground conditions of the work site to avoid objects puncturing or scratching the film.
7. Do not walk on the film, and do not place assembly tools or other objects on the film to prevent the film from being broken.
8. Pay special attention to avoiding direct connection between the film and the greenhouse components as much as possible. If it cannot be avoided, white acrylic-vinyl should be applied to the connection area, and mixed organic solvents should not be applied.
9. Avoid direct contact between crops and equipment such as irrigation and heating pipes and the film.
10. Do not burn vegetable leaves, crop straw, etc. at room temperature to avoid damaging the film.
11. Try to limit the maximum use of pesticides, herbicides, and biological treatment products, and control the concentration of sulfur-hydrogen mixtures.
12. When using pesticides on plants, avoid spraying them on the film.
13. Avoid the attachment of pesticides at the contact point between the film and the greenhouse components. After using pesticides, ventilate the greenhouse as soon as possible.
14. Where the film is covered, a proper amount of soil should be piled on the film to prevent damage to the film by spraying disinfectants.
15. Do not use sulfuric acid.
